Welcome to your Library

The Shire of Trayning Library and Information Service offers residents a free Public Library Service as part of the State Wide network, which operates between Local Government authorities and the State Library of Western Australia.

 

Joining the Library

  • Membership is FREE
  • We require a parent/guardians signature if you’re under 18
  • Please produce proof of your address
    • WA Drivers Licence
    • Bank Statement
    • Social Security Card
    • Rates Notice
    • Western Power/ Telstra Account
    • Rental Receipt
  • We ask for a secondary contact address

You can Borrow a Maximum of:

Six items comprising of:

  • 6 books
  • 2 videos or DVDs
  • 3 CDs
  • 2 CD-Roms
  • The borrowing period is 2 weeks.
  • Items can be renewed 3 times by phone. Email or in person provided no other member has requested them.

Note: a maximum of 3 “non-fiction” items on the same topic may be borrowed per family.

Help us help you

  • MOST IMPORTANT: ask Library Staff if you require assistance.
  • Please return items by due date. If you require more time, phone for a renewal.
  • Please report any damage to items: Do not attempt any repairs.
  • Any items borrowed on your card are your responsibility.
  • Let us know if you change your address or telephone number.

  • Council Minutes and information.
  • Pamphlet Collection.
  • Local History Collection.
  • Tourism Pamphlets.
  • Request/ Information Service
  • We have access to over 2 million items in public libraries in Western Australia and limited access to University Libraries.
  • If an item in our stock is on loan, we can reserve it for you.
  • If we don’t have the item or information you want, please ask – we will try to get it for you .

We ask you to please look after you library materials carefully.

If items are lost or damaged you will be charged for their replacement at rates determined by the State Library of Western Australia. You will receive an account for the replacement of these items. Nothing may be borrowed until the items are returned or paid for.

Lost Library cards

Lost Cards will be replaced for a fee of $3:00 per card.

Please Remember

Present you library card, formal identification or quote your personal identification number when borrowing.
People using the library are required to conduct themselves properly with due consideration for other library users.
Members are Responsible for all items borrowed on their card (parents or guardians are responsible for children’s loans).
