Due to weather conditions the previously advertised closure date of the 30 March is now void. The Trayning Aquatic Centre will now be closed for the season from 7:00pm tonight 26 March 2026.

We encourage residents to be prepared for the potential storms to ensure your homes and properties are safe: -Secure loose outdoor items (trampolines, furniture, bins, etc.) -Check gutters and down pipes are clear -Park vehicles undercover or away from trees where possible -Ensure pets have access to safe, sheltered areas -Trim any loose branches around your property

If your Club or Organisation wants a grant or sponsorship from council, it is IMPORTANT that a written Grant Application Form be lodged. Community Grants will generally be to a maximum of $500. Requests for grants above $500 will be considered provided the club or organisation combined with any other external grant funding is contributing two thirds of the project cost.

Due to limited fuel supply in WA, Great Southern Fuels are now restricting the hours in which customers can pump fuel from their bowsers. Effective immediately both unleaded and diesel bowsers will only be accessible between 7:00am and 5:00pm.

As you are aware Council recently installed CCTV cameras at the Kununoppin and Yelbeni Refuse sites, the purpose of which was to help capture information pertaining to the illegal disposal of rubbish from persons / companies from outside of the Shire. Unfortunately, on the evening of Saturday 3rd January 2026, a person or persons unknown removed and stole the security gates and CCTV camera from the Kununoppin site, whilst the incident has been reported to the Police, and they are investigating Council would appreciate any information from the community that can help apprehend the culprits. Thanking you in anticipation for any information you may be able to provide.

The Shire of Trayning would like to notify all residents that CCTV Cameras are in the process of being installed at both Kununoppin and Yelbeni Refuse Site (Tips).

The Shire would like to remind all residents that all private swimming pools and spas must be registered with the Shire in accordance with safety regulations.

Shire of Trayning Election Notice 2025

Notice is herby given that the Ordinary Meeting of Council previously advertised for Wednesday 17 September 2025 has been changed to Wednesday 10 September 2025, commencing at 4:00pm. Notice is also herby given that the Ordinary Meeting of Council previously advertised for Wednesday 15 October 2025 has been changed to Wednesday 22 October 2025, commencing at 4:00pm.

KEY OUTOMES FROM 2025/2026 BUDGET ADOPTION Council adopted the 2025/2026 Budget including Fees & Charges at its Ordinary Meeting on 16 July 2025. Council would like to take this opportunity to advise the Public & Ratepayers with some of the key information as adopted:

The Trayning & Districts Sporting Club is temporarily closed until further notice. This is due to maintenance repairs to the building. We apologise for this inconvenience and will have it back up and running as soon as possible.

Advocating for Support of Our Local Kununoppin Pharmacy

Please be advised that Council has received several complaints in relation to vehicles using the path through the Trayning Tree Library as a thoroughfare. Can this practice please be discontinued as the area is prohibited to vehicles, other than for maintenance purposes, and is for pedestrian traffic only.

Shire President Cr Melanie Brown would like to formally advise the community that Council has chosen its new CEO on a three year contract commencing on the 19th May.
