Wheatbelt Way are planning to have an Open Garden Week in September for a nine day period starting on a Saturday and going right through until the following Sunday, this duration going over 2 weekends and 5 working days. Opening your garden for the week starts with making the commitment to have your garden open to tourists travelling along the Wheat belt Way, with options of; what days you wish to display as you must be present to oncoming visitors, and an entrance fee of up to $5.00 is in your discretion to do what you wish. Open gardens can be of any size and style, you may wish to add other activities for the visitors. Please read for more information or if interested fill in the form.

The Trayning Volunteer Fire and Emergency Services Unit would like a map of the Shire showing the locations of water tanks that farmers will let them access for fire fighting purposes and the fittings required to connect to them. If you have a tank that they can use in an emergency, please email or phone the coordinates to the Shire office with the details of the type/size of fittings needed – one day it might be your stock, infrastructure or house that needs saving!
